I’m a couple days behind on my posts, so I’m still on Day 22 at the moment. The assignment is to dive in and participate in a blog event that is new to us. I already participate in a few photography blogging events, so I decided it was time to find one for writing. I discovered the Daily Wisdom page where I am offered a choice of items to blog about based on what they provide. The categories are:
- Word of the Day
- Quote of the Day
- Article of the Day
- This Day in History
- Today’s Birthday
- In the News
I decided to venture in to the Quote of the Day
Synchronicity surrounds us when we pay attention. This past week I’ve had discussions with people regarding pain and suffering, bringing in lessons from Buddhism and Conversations with God. Dostoyevsky identifies with pain and suffering with those with a deep heart. I believe he was delving in to the deep realms of suffering – identification of our reasons for being here, as well as the sometimes seemingly endlessness of life. When a human being is able to identify all that is the cause of the suffering, it is then the striving to remove the suffering begins.
In The Heart of the Buddha’s Teaching, Thich Nhat Hanh says, “When we are able to identify our suffering and see its causes, we will have more peace and joy, and we are already on the path to liberation.”
Sometimes this sounds so easy, other times absolutely impossible. Perhaps it really is in the identification of the suffering that we truly do find our path.
